While I have always included purchase and selling consulting as a part of my professional offering, I find myself offering this service more and more often, especially as connected with my regular travels to Europe.
During my my recent trip to Retromobile, I had a very rewarding consulting assignment. I purchased on behalf of a great friend and client at RM Auctions Paris sale a spectacular 1947 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Pinin Farina Cabriolet. It was discovered during the auction preview that it ran in the 1949 Mille Miglia! And we paid *less* than we planned to spend *before* getting the news!
In addition to the Mille Miglia, it was campaigned in many other top Italian events during 1949, including the Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomite, Stella Alpina, Coppa Inter-Europea Monza and others.
The restoration by Carrozzeria Quality Cars of Padova, Italy is phenomenal, done to international concours level. Combined with the history, this is a true Alfa Romeo blue chip marvel.
